Now my first question comes to mind....why did this couple go over into another state to get married? Could it have to be age requirement, or something else. I know it couldn't be a pregnant fact, dad (the couples first child) wasn't born until 11 months later the following November. Grandpa was well over the legal age, as for grandma; her father had already passed on at this point, so she didn't have to have his consent.
If anyone can point me in the direction of the marriage custom of the 1930's in Illinois or Indiana do leave your comments . Thanks.
